Coming out of Telegraph Cove, the road immediately turns to dirt and gravel. This is a heavily used forest service road — be prepared for logging trucks and forestry machinery. The crews operating these roads are generally accommodating, but give them plenty of space. The route eventually transitions to highway leading into Sayward for a fuel stop.
Navigation skills are required on this stage as it is fairly easy to get lost among the branching forest roads. Follow the GPX carefully. If logging activity blocks the primary route, an alternate via W Road exists as a detour. The Steel Creek Bridge crossing near the end makes for a scenic final stretch before reaching the highway.
Telegraph Cove Resort has a coffee shop and breakfast options — a good gathering point before departure into the forestry roads.

Steel Creek Bridge — an alternate route ending that provides a scenic river crossing before reaching the main highway. The transition from remote forestry road to paved highway is a welcome change of pace after this long dirt stage.
