Stage 7 mixes dirt logging roads through Strathcona Provincial Park with the excellent paved twisties of Highway 28 as it descends into Gold River. The stage offers real variety — from the gravel of Duncan Bay Road to the sweeping curves of the main highway with mountain peaks on all sides.
The main navigation challenge is connecting Duncan Bay Road to Elk River Road in the park — pay close attention to the GPX here. Strathcona Park Lodge on Upper Campbell Lake makes an excellent mid-stage coffee stop with stunning views. Gold River is a small, friendly community with a great cafe to end the day.
