From Shirley the road opens up with ocean views and twisties all the way to Port Renfrew. A popular and well-paved stretch of the southern island with Jordan River surfers and the stunning Botanical Beach.
The ride from Victoria out to Port Renfrew is very popular. Once you're past Shirley, the road opens up and allows for a lot more speed, a lot less traffic, and some really fun twisties. The route features well-maintained pavement with ocean views to the south and forested areas to the north.
Jordan River is a common stopping point for watching surfers, and the Cold Shoulder Cafe makes a great rest stop. Botanical Beach near Port Renfrew is absolutely worth the short detour — a spectacular rocky shoreline with tide pools carved by the sea over millennia.

Sheringham Point Lighthouse — historic 1912 lighthouse with accessible viewpoint. Sandcut Falls — a small waterfall that flows directly onto the beach. Jordan River — popular surf spot, watch the action from shore. Botanical Beach and Botany Bay — a 1.5-hour loop hike through stunning intertidal rock formations.
No gas stations between Shirley and Port Renfrew — fuel up before you leave. Gas is now available in Port Renfrew (as of 2017).
